Brooklyn

Southeast Portland, about 2.08 miles from downtown, in Multnomah County.

Smaller than 90% of Portland neighborhoods in both average home size (1,284 sq ft) and average lot size (4,519 sq ft), Brooklyn is compact, and my notes on it start there. The median home dates to 1923, older than 80% of the city, and sidewalk coverage is estimated at 79.7%, higher than 80% of Portland neighborhoods. In the city's historic survey, which recorded only some homes, I found Queen Anne Vernacular at 35% and Bungalow at 25%. Tree canopy is 24.9%.

I pulled these from OpenStreetMap: the nearest named restaurants and cafes, starting inside the neighborhood and measured from its edge. Places marked Patio have outdoor seating, from my research for Outdoor Seating Near Me, my other site; the photos come from that research too.

I pulled these from the census tract that covers this neighborhood, so they describe the tract, not the neighborhood itself. I report housing and housing cost only.
